RALLY RETURN FOR PIERRE RAGUES AT SAINT-GERMAIN-LA-CAMPAGNE Photo News
Pierre Ragues will make his return to competitive rallying in a one-off participation at Rallye Saint-Germain-La-Campagne this coming weekend.

The French racer, fresh from his FIA World Endurance Championship performance at Spa-Francorchamps on Saturday, will take to the cockpit of a Polo R5 for the first time alongside co-driver Julien Pesenti in the 41st running of the Normandy-based event, which forms part of the Coupe de France des Rallyes.

The Michelin-equipped rally car, run by Team Racing Service, will tackle six stages over a total distance of 40km, almost three-quarters of the total 56km course. After an opening stage on Saturday evening, La Duquerie, the bulk of the action continues on Sunday with three passes through La Croix de Pierre and two of Le Marais.

Pierre has happy memories of the event which he won three years ago, a result he’ll be aiming to replicate in his first event with the Polo R5. He will compete in the rally with the support of YACCO and car dealership Group Polmar,

Pierre said: “The next endurance challenge we have is the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans next month, so I welcome the opportunity to keep my driving skills sharp by participating in this weekend’s Saint-Germain-La-Campagne. It will be my first rally of the year and one where I have positive memories from my victory there in 2017. It will also mark my first event with the competitive Polo R5, so I am really looking forward to getting familiar with the car and the Michelin tyres alongside my co-driver Julien. These rallies are always super competitive, but it offers a wonderful experience, especially competing in France, and a nice warm-up for Le Mans.”
