STATEMENT ON SEBRING 1,000 MILES Photo News
Following cancellation of the Sebring 1,000 Miles race, announced by the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) on Thursday morning, French racer Pierre Ragues has given his full support to the series’ governing body.

In the statement, WEC confirmed: “Following the announcement made by President Trump at 9.00 pm (EST) on 11th March of a wide suspension of travel by non US citizens from Europe to the USA, the leadership of the WEC has reviewed the viability of staging the Sebring 1000 Miles race planned to be held at Sebring on 20th March. After a careful review of the situation, it has been determined that the WEC race will be cancelled.”

Pierre said of the decision: “While it is disappointing that we won’t have the opportunity to race at Sebring, I completely respect the difficult decision taken by the WEC leadership team in light of the travel restrictions imposed from Europe to USA. We will miss racing in front of the fans at Sebring next week, but we respect the situation and must always have health and welfare as top priority. My thoughts are with all those affected by this virus.”
