SPARCO’S KARL KRUUDA TAKES WRC2 WIN IN RALLY FINLAND AND LEADS SPARCO 1-2-3 News Photo
Sparco-supported rally driver Karl Kruuda has won the WRC2 category in Rally Finland this weekend, leading a 1-2-3 for Sparco in the competitive class.

The Estonian drove his Ford Fiesta S2000 to the WRC2 win after taking over the lead of the category from pre-event favourite – and fellow Sparco wearer - Jari Ketomaa on Saturday.

The local star ran into trouble during yesterday’s ten stages but fought hard on Sunday morning to regain some of the lost time. The Finn was forced to settle for second place behind Kruuda but ahead of Ott Tanak, who also benefitted from the comfort of Sparco’s Superleggera suit through Finland’s famous jumps.

In the WRC class, the M-Sport World Rally Team drivers Mikko Hirvonen and Elfyn Evans took fifth and seventh places at the conclusion of the event’s 26 stages.

Wearing Sparco’s EXTREMA RS-10 overalls, the M-Sport pair fought hard in their Fiesta RS WRC cars to secure solid results on Finland’s notoriously fast stages and tough terrain.

Sparco CEO, Claudio Pastoris said: “Rally Finland is always one of the highlights of the World Rally Championship, with its extremely fast nature. It is important for drivers to rely on the comfort of their race suits so they can fully commit to the speed and the jumps. We are pleased to see all three podium finishes in WRC wearing our Sparco Superleggera suits and many congratulations to Karl Kruuda for taking the win.  Our EXTREMA RS-10 also continues to offer the M-Sport World Rally Team high performing, state-of-the-art race wear and it has definitely stood up to the might of Finland. WRC has once again given us a good show and all of us at Sparco are happy to play a part in it.”
