SPARCO SUPPORTED TEAMS TAKE SENSATIONAL RESULTS IN LE MANS 24 HOURS News Photo
Sparco-supported teams have taken fantastic results in this weekend’s 24 Hours of Le Mans with the JOTA Sport team claiming a victory in LMP2 and the Signatech-Alpine team also finishing on the podium.

In an eventful and thrilling 24 hour battle, the LMP2 class once again proved to be extremely competitive with numerous teams fighting hard for the three podium positions.

In an ever changing classification, it was ultimately the JOTA Sport entry of Oliver Turvey. Harry Tincknell and Simon Dolan who claimed the victory, finishing in an impressive fifth place overall. The trip wore Sparco’s high performing Superleggera overalls in the 24 hour race with comfort absolutely essential in such a gruelling race.

The Signatech-Alpine entry of Nelson Panciatici, Oliver Webb and Paul-Loup Chatin finished in a highly commendable third place and seventh overall after a strong performance in their Nissan powered Alpine A450b.  In addition, of the other Sparco teams, the Sebastian Loeb Racing team finished just outside of the podium, again wearing Sparco’s Superleggera.

This year’s 82nd running of the Le Mans 24 Hours marked another key event for Sparco, as the Italian race wear specialists had a strong presence at Le Mans. From hosting its special racing service on-site, Sparco also hosted a media event in which it showcased its latest range of race suits, including the EXTREMA RS-10, which was worn by the Nissan Motorsport Global team as they completed the first all-electric lap of Le Mans in the Nissan ZEOD car.

Sparco CEO Claudio Pastoris said: “We are always honoured to be part of the Le Mans 24 Hours and this year was no exception. It was another example of the competition and drama of top level sports car racing, and for Sparco to contribute to that is very important to the company. For Sparco, our aim is to always give priority to safety, comfort and design, which makes Le Mans a very natural fit for us. The event is very demanding in terms of driver comfort, especially when it comes to overalls. We have supported many LMP2 teams this weekend, all of whom have shown great pace and competitiveness, but congratulation go to JOTA Sport for the incredible LMP2 victory and fifth place. Well done also to Signatech-Alpine on a well-earned podium. We were also proud to see our EXTREMA RS-10 race suits being used by the Nissan ZEOD entry as they made history this weekend.”
