EIGHTH ANNUAL QUADRA SPORTS TRAINING COURSE WITH TONY KART News Photo
For the eighth year running, Quadra Sports has trained the champions of the future at Tony Kart’s headquarters in Italy.

On this occasion, nine of the most talented drivers in the sport took part – including reigning world karting champion Flavio Camponeschi.

The course took place in Prevalle, Italy, and involved members of the official Tony Kart factory team and its satellite team, Kosmic, who had just returned from their latest race in La Conca.

The Quadra Sports preparation course took in gym work and media exercises, as well as seminars on race craft and sportsmanship. As expected from a team of the international calibre of Tony Kart, the drivers came from a wide variety of different backgrounds and nationalities, led again by two-time World Champion and Italian Federation (ACI) driver representative, Marco Ardigo.

The full list of drivers attending was: Marco Ardigo (I), Karol Basz (PL), Flavio Camponeschi (I), Armand Convers (F), Luca Corberi (I), Rick Dreezen (B), Nicklas Nielsen (DK), Andrea Russo (I) and Mirko Torsellini (I).

The Quadra Sports put all nine drivers through their paces both inside the gym and out of it over two intensive residential days. The work covered took in fitness exercises and assessments, together with classes in PR, marketing, and media skills. Although five of the drivers had attended the Quadra Sports course before, they all drew plenty of benefit from a mixture of taught theory and practical workshops, including interview role-play. To encourage a bit of friendly rivalry, the drivers went head-to-head in a simulated competition where they had to sell themselves to potential teams and sponsors.

Rick Dreezen, the winner of the competition workshop, said: “We had a lot of fun but learned plenty of things at the same time. The course allowed us not only to improve our levels of fitness and stamina, but also to learn more about the science of nutrition and physical training, with assessment of our diet and exercise programmes. Then of course there were the practical exercises and media training, where we had to sell ourselves to an imaginary team and sponsors. Of course I’m pleased to have won, but I was able to use my experience and also the knowledge gained from Quadra Sports training courses in the past to help me achieve this. I would really recommend the course to any young drivers who are serious about improving their all-round skills.”

Ange Pasquali, the founder and managing director of Quadra Sports, commented: “I’m delighted that we have provided another successful training course for the prestigious Tony Kart teams. It’s always a pleasure to work with teams at this level, and we hope that the drivers have enjoyed learning on the course as much as we have enjoyed hosting it again.”
