FELIX ROSENQVIST AND MUCKE MOTORSPORT DOMINATE IN MACAU WEARING SPARCO News Photo
The 61st running of the prestigious Formula 3 Macau Grand Prix has been dominated this year by the Sparco-wearing Mucke Motorsport team, as its drivers Felix Rosenqvist and Lucas Auer took a 1-2 finish in today’s dramatic final race.

The Mucke duo topped both practice sessions earlier in the weekend with Auer taking the honours in the first session and Rosenqvist in the second practice, despite the latter having an encounter with the barriers.

As the team to beat, it was Swede Rosenqvist who bounced back to take pole position for the qualification race just ahead of his Austrian team-mate. In the qualification race itself, it was a battle between the two over the ten lap race. Rosenqvist lost his lead but following a safety car phase, he took the lead back from Auer to head home for a 1-2 for the Sparco supported team.

The result set the team up nicely for today’s main race, with 30 of the world’s finest F3 drivers lining up once again alongside each other in the famous Grand Prix held on the legendary 6.12km street circuit.

It was an incident filled race which was red flagged following a big collision. The Mucke duo were always in the fight for the lead with both drivers at times looking on course for the win. In the end it was Rosenqvist who triumphed, going one better than his second place from 2012, and taking the Macau GP title with his team-mate Auer in second place – a Mucke Motorsport and Sparco 1-2!

Sparco’s Motorsport Manager Daniela Vignale commented: “The Macau Grand Prix is an iconic and legendary race on the international motorsport calendar so it is fantastic for Sparco to play a role in the event. We would like to extend our congratulations to Mucke Motorsport for a fantastic result in today’s race, a 1-2 wearing Sparco overalls, and to Felix and Lucas for some great driving. They’ve been the ones to beat throughout the event and so a 1-2 is a fitting result. We are delighted to see the Sparco name on the top steps of a prestigious podium!”
